We all get ill on planes. I can’t remember the last time I stepped off a flight without picking up a cold, cough, sore throat or worse and judging by the response to a recent reader's letter that accused airlines of failing to provide clean air in the cabin, nor can you.
Some of you say the ban on smoking on flights gave airlines the excuse to cuts costs (including the intake of fresh air), others blamed higher passenger loads and quicker turnaround between flights for any rise in infection.

But according to Professor Michael Bagshaw, professor of aviation medicine at King’s College, London, we are making much ado about nothing.
