First daughter Jenna Bush is writing a nonfiction book for young adults, "Ana's Story: A Journey of Hope," that will center on a 17-year-old single mother who is HIV positive. Based on her time working for UNICEF, the book will be published this fall by Ruper Murdoch's publishing company HarperCollins. "I have been inspired by my work with adolescents in Central and South America," Jenna Bush said in a statement released by her publisher on Tuesday.

"These young people have faced extreme hardships and exclusion but are strong in spirit and have an incredible will to succeed. Through their stories, it is my hope to motivate young Americans to increase their awareness of other young people around the world: to learn about the challenges they face, how they triumph over adversity, and to become involved in helping them." Financial terms were not disclosed, although bidding had reportedly topped $300,000.

Some of the author and publisher proceeds will be donated to the U.S. fund for UNICEF.

Bush, 25, has been a UNICEF intern since fall 2006, working in Argentina, Paraguay and Panama, where she is now teaching at a shelter. The U2 frontman will edit the magazine's Africa-themed July issue, on newsstands in early June, on behalf of his Project RED campaign, it was announced Tuesday. "We've talked about doing a special issue on Africa for awhile now, and of course Bono came to mind during those discussions," said Vanity Fair Editor Graydon Carter in a statement.

"He's very passionate on the subject, and he'll be an authentic guest editor." Last May, Bono was guest editor of The Independent newspaper in London. He featured stories on HIV/AIDS in Africa, poverty and global warming to highlight his Project RED venture, which enlists corporations to donate the proceeds of products made under the RED brand to humanitarian efforts in Africa.

"As guest editor, I want Africa to appear (as) an adventure, not a burden, and put faces and personalities to the statistics we read elsewhere," the 46-year-old Irish rocker said in a statement. "Five thousand Africans die every day of a preventable, treatable disease (HIV/AIDS). If Graydon, his team, and I succeed, the reader will care more about the daily squandering of these noble, optimistic lives .

" Kanye West is not eating any $3,900 curry, his management said Tuesday. The British Raj restaurant had said that a music promotion company was paying that princely sum, plus travel and accommodation for the restaurant's head chef, to send a fully cooked Indian meal from Wales to New York for a meeting with West and seven guests. But the music star's publicist said West wasn't planning to be in New York during the week, and that the food wasn't for him.

"There is no meeting in New York. There never has been," spokesman Gabe Tesoriero said Tuesday. He called the story "patently false.

" The restaurant confirmed Tuesday that the food was en route to New York by plane. It said the bill was being footed by a promotion company called Raw Soul. Several phone messages left for Raw Soul were not returned.
